Bio: bounced around the last few years. Went from St. Louis to Atlanta for a year, and then to the Dodgers for two. He opted out of a five year, $55 million deal with the Dodgers after the second season. It was a good move, as he landed much more money with the Red Sox. Agreed on a deal in the beginning of December, 2006 with us, but it took over seven weeks for him to officially sign because of problems with his shoulder. His current contract has an out clause for the final two years if his shoulder acts up. Drew is a typical Red Sox player: very patient, and gets on base a lot. He will serve as protection for David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez in the five spot in the lineup.

Projected 2007 Statistics: .295, 28, 120, 100, 100

Fantasy Outlook: I think that JD Drew is going to be one of the top outfielders by the end of the season. As it is now, he won't go too early in most drafts, but that's just to your benefit. Batting behind David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez means he could easily knock in well over 100 runs, and I think he'll approach 30 longballs this season. I'm convinced Drew is going to have a monster first season in Boston, and I have him as my number two right fielder in the majors.
